Breath | Movement | Sound
A wellness workshop for your whole team
We breath in and out every day, but pay no attention
Breathing is something we all take for granted. We rely on it automatically, all day, every day, but many people do not breathe optimally. Stress is one of the major factors that inhibits our ability to breathe properly. We all know taking a few deep breaths when we’re stressed helps us reset and feel better. By paying attention to our breath, and learning how to asses, correct and breath functionally, we can improve our overall health, as well as feel instant benefits of improved vitality, energy and clarity.
Movement is medicine | Move it or lose it!
Movement is critically important but so many people don’t make the time to get their bodies moving each day. Many of us sit for hours at our computer, then drive home and sit in front of the TV. Simple movements that are gentle and accessible, and can even be done in a chair, deliver huge benefits to the individual. In this workshop, we explore simple neck, shoulder and spinal movements to assess how your body moves. All participants receive access to a downloadable handout to remind them of these movements, so they can be done regularly.
Pure sound has the power to change our mood, lift our spirits and make us feel good
Sound healing has been used for centuries by many indigenous and ancient cultures. Pure tones and vibrations have the ability to alter our internal state. They can elicit deep relaxation and, in some cases, profound realisation. Crystal singing bowls create pure tones with strong vibrations that move through every cell in our body. The effect is deeply relaxing and excellent for reducing stress and improving communication.
Benefits of Sound Healing:
- Promotes deep relaxation
- Improves mental health
- Reduces stress
- Promotes a feeling of inner peace and calm

What does this workshop look, feel and sound like?
This workshop can be tailored to the specific needs of your organisation, however, 3 hours is recommended for the best outcome.
The workshop begins with a brief discussion about the power of movement, sound and vibration, optimal functional breathing, and why it is so important for overall health. I give a brief history of the crystal bowls, the benefits of sound therapy and sound healing, and what to expect from the session.
Participants engage in self-assessment of the diaphragm, simple and effective self-massage, and a series of conscious breathing exercises to explore and understand their current breathing state, as well as a series of gentle and accessible movements designed to create more awareness and space through the neck, shoulders, torso and abdomen. This activity often breaks down inhibitions, creating a more cohesive group dynamic. Ideally, participants will stand, but if someone needs to remain sitting they can.
Next, the group is guided through a short meditation where we explore different aspects of the breath. Participants can choose to sit in chairs or lie down on the floor. I guide a Yoga Nidra – a body awareness relaxation – and then move into the sound bath, where I play the Crystal Singing Bowls. Participants simply relax and let the sound move through them.
Finally, we share some time in silence so the cellular shift the bowls create can integrate. As participants move out of their meditative state, there is time for reflections, questions and comments.
