Shannon teaches Yin Yoga

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

Shannon first tried yoga searching for both physical and mindful movement to help manage arthritis and chronic pain from injuries and stress. Initially drawn to Bikram Yoga, over the years she explored many styles of yoga, meditation, and related exercises, always seeking some sort of relief. Yet it wasn’t until Shannon was diagnosed with chronic vestibular migraines with vertigo, and was struggling to think, walk or drive on some days, that she finally realised a regular and grounding movement and spiritual practice was needed. She began to listen to what her brain and body were telling her and stopped searching elsewhere for answers. The slow process of learning how to adjust her mindset and adapt asanas to her body as it was each day helped Shannon find balance again. Yoga has given Shannon the improved health outcomes and self-acceptance she sought for so long.
