Shraddha Trust

Oh boy! Have you felt it?

The last month has been a wild ride!!!!!

So many times in the last month I have been on the brink of shutdown, ejection, despondent, completely dissolved. I have been so challenged in my beliefs, in my capacities, in my ability to deliver what I want to deliver.

Everywhere in my life, except on the mat, when I have been teaching or practicing for myself, I have had challenge, drama and setback.

My whole life, external to my inner life, has been pushed, twisted, turned on its head. But my inner world has been the ground of being that I have leant on, trusted in and relied on to hold me together.

I don’t use Sanskrit often as I am not super comfortable with it (something I am working on), but this word Shraddha holds so much wisdom. In its essence it is Trust. But looking deeper we can feel there is a deep allowing and surrender that is required to fully embrace this trust.

What do we trust in? Ourselves, time, the divine, god, nature, the universe? We all have a way of connecting to something greater than ourselves and when all seems lost and hopeless we tend to simply surrender into the flow, into what is and “trust” all will be well.

It is in this very moment of surrender and complete letting go of control that often our solutions come, our light bald moments and/or a deep sense of peace washes over us and we feel the warm embrace of love and support from something greater than ourselves. We slide back into the fabric of the cosmos and remember who we are and what we are made of.

This Shraddha is why my teaching has not just sustained, but improved, while my external world has been in turmoil. Why my personal practice has been strong and consistent and divine in it’s bliss. It has been my deep trust, my deep devotion to my inner world and connection to that which is greater than me that has sustained me through the challenges of the external world. It is this connection that has given me capacity to sit back, watch things progress and find a path forward, still unknown and definitely scary, but supported and open to the growth the challenges will no doubt provide.

I hope it does, and if not, maybe it is time to go a little deeper, to surrender a little more and trust in the process itself. That just showing up and moving and breathing has benefits far beyond what you see on the surface. That when faced with challenges you allow yourself to feel all the emotion of it, fully and completely and then take pause, sit back and watch, remember and surrender.

From this place solutions will come and all will be well.
